Five Cheap, Easy and Healthy Recipes for a Family Dinner

If you’re a busy mom who’s looking for some great recipes, we have five cheap and easy recipes for dinner that your family will love.  All of these recipes are healthy and good for your family.

Make cheap, easy, healthy recipes for Meatloaf when you use ground turkey.  Stir two egg whites into one pound turkey.  Add 1 cup torn multi-grain bread, 3 dashes Worcestershire sauce, ½ cup ketchup, ½ teaspoon salt, pepper, oregano, garlic powder.  Shape into loaf, top with ketchup, and bake 45 minutes at 350.

Pasta Fagioli is cheap, easy, and one of our favorite recipes for comfort food.  Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil.  Sauté diced carrot, celery stalk, onion,  until soft.  Add ½ teaspoon chopped garlic, 8 ounces of tomato sauce, 14 ounces of chicken broth, dash of pepper, 1/2 teaspoon basil, and simmer 20 minutes.  Cook ditalini pasta al dente.  Add 15 ounce can cannellini beans, drained and rinsed, to sauce.  Simmer 4 minutes.  Combine all ingredients.

Cheap, easy, recipes for Tuna/Veggie Salad abound.  Here’s ours: take one large can tuna packed in spring water, drain, flake into bowl.  Add ½ cup fat free mayonnaise, ½ cup chopped celery, ½ cup chopped green bell pepper, ½ cup chopped sweet Vidalia onion, ½ teaspoon dried mustard and 2 hardboiled eggs.


Chicken Salad is another of our cheap, easy healthy recipes. Begin with breast meat, cooked and chopped, to ½ cup fat free mayonnaise with ½ cup each chopped onion, chopped celery, red grapes, seeded.  Garnish with chopped mango.


Here is a healthy recipe for Deviled Eggs that is cheap, easy and fun.  This one calls for one dozen eggs boiled, peeled and sliced in half horizontally.  Remove yolks to bowl.  Add teaspoon dried mustard, fat free mayonnaise until moist, chopped chives and dill.  Put mixture into egg halves.  Sprinkle with paprika.
