How to Make a Healthy Cranberry Spinach Salad

Spinach is a healthy food, full of antioxidants and nutrients, and is a basic for any salad.  A large bag will only cost you a few dollars at the grocery store.  A great tasting salad that you will be able to put your own touch to is a cranberry spinach salad.

 

You will need:

 

8 cups of baby spinach, 1 cup of dried cranberries, 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds, 1 cup of chopped almonds, ¼ cup of cider vinegar, 5 tablespoons of sugar, ½ teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, ½ teaspoon of ground mustard, ¼ teaspoon of ground paprika and ¼ cup of olive oil.


Steps:

 

In a large bowl, add the spinach and cranberries.  Make sure that they are well mixed.  You can blend the vinegar, sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and paprika in a blender, adding the oil slowly.  Make sure that it is blended perfectly. 

 

Add the sesame seeds and then pour the sauce over the salad, toss it to coat it thoroughly and then add the chopped almonds to the top of the salad.  You might also want to add some other fruits to the mix as well.  Apples or pears make a nice addition.  Cut the fruit into small chunks and then add it to your salad.  You can add just about any type of fruit that you want, but make sure that it goes well with the other flavors in the salad.

 

The cranberry spinach salad is a great precursor to many different types of meals, from chicken to pork chops.  It is healthy, it tastes great and it is easy to make.  You can make this salad in just minutes and have it with any meal for a healthy option!
