How to Make a Quick and Easy Greek Salad

Salads are healthy and Greek food is tasty and healthy, so it’s no wonder that so many people enjoy Greek salads.  If you love the taste of the salad when you are out at your favorite Greek restaurant, you might want to learn how to make your own at home. 

To make your salad, you will need:

 

2 – 3 medium tomatoes, a medium red onion, a cucumber, a handful of fresh dill, pitted Greek olives (or olives of your choice), a tablespoon of red wine vinegar, 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, a small block of feta cheese, a pinch of salt and a teaspoon of dried oregano.


Steps:

 

Cut the tomatoes into wedges, and cut the onion so that you have thin rings.  Add the onion to the tomatoes in a bowl.  Slice your cucumber into thick slices and then add this to the onions and tomatoes. 

 

Chop the dill and add it to the bowl.  Add your olives and salt, and stir them into the salad.  Next, add your oil and vinegar.  You can use your hands or a wooden spoon to stir the mixture together.  When you use your hands, you will be able to make sure that everything is mixed and coated properly.

 

Finally, crumble your feta cheese, add it to the salad and sprinkle with your oregano.  You can pour a little more oil over the top of the salad when you serve it if you wish.

This salad goes great with pita bread and hummus.
