How to Make Christmas Fruit Cake

Fruit cake is one of the most traditional Christmas desserts.  If you want to add this delightful dish to your Christmas menu, here are the steps to follow.

To make a Christmas fruit cake, you’ll need half a cup each of the following: candied pineapple, candied cherries, candied orange, candied lemon.  You also need some all purpose flour, baking powder, baking spray, salt, nutmeg, butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, almonds and almond extract, milk and fruit juice.

First, you should preheat your oven to three hundred degrees and grease the sides and bottom of a loaf pan with your spray for your Christmas cake.  Next, chop the almonds (you want three quarters of a cup), and chop the candied fruit into small pieces.  In a small bowl, combine a quarter cup of all fruit.

Now, add two and a quarter cups of flour, two teaspoons of baking powder and an eighth of a teaspoon of salt to another bowl.  Add a half cup of butter and a cup of sugar to the dry ingredients and mix well.

Finally, cream the sugar and butter, and then add three eggs and blend well.  Add a teaspoon of vanilla and almond extracts to your Christmas fruit cake mix.  Next on your Christmas recipe, add the flour and butter together and then a half cup of milk – mix this well.  Add the fruit and almonds to the mix and stir.

Pour the entire mixture into the loaf pan and bake for about an hour and a half.  You can also pour fruit juice over the Christmas cake after baking and wrap it in aluminum foil for a soaked cake.  Delicious!
