How to Make Healthy Eating Fun for Your Children

We all know it’s important for kids to eat healthy, especially in light of the way childhood obesity rates have increased over the last few years. Even so, knowing children should eat healthy and encouraging them to eat healthy can be two entirely different things. Here are a few tips to help encourage your children to eat healthy without the struggle.

One of the best ways you can encourage your children to eat healthy is to begin by setting a good example. Children learn by what they see so if they do not see you eating healthy, chances are they will not see the importance of it, either. Not only will you feel better by eating healthy, but you will know you are doing something good for your children, as well.

You can also make eating healthy fun for kids to encourage them. For example, try making funny faces on your children’s plates using raw vegetables or giving your children a healthy but fun dip for dipping fresh fruit and veggies. You might just be amazed at the way your children suddenly decide to clean their plates when they can have fun with their food.

Make it a game to try new and healthy foods each week. Both you and your children may be surprised at the exotic but healthy foods that you learn to enjoy. Try taking the children with you to your local market to select something new to try each week.
