How to Make Sure Your Kids Eat Their Packed School Lunches

Getting your children to eat their packed lunch at school can be difficult, especially since they are out from under your watchful eye.  However, there are some fun, simple tricks to try, to ensure your kids eat all of their lunch – whether you’re there or are absent.

One of the best options out there it to send along a game or draw a puzzle on their lunch bag.  This will give your child something to do while eating lunch and will help ensure that their pickiness does not get in the way of proper nutrition.

Another way that you can get your kids to eat their lunch at school is to ramp up their interest level.  Give them a fun lunch and they’ll devour it.  You can do this by cutting their sandwich up with cookie cutters – bells, stars and even Christmas trees can be great sandwich shapes.  Put these in Ziploc bags and squeeze the air out, so they won’t go stale.

Next, you can tap into the tricks used by fast food restaurants to get your kids to eat their lunch.  Put a surprise in the bottom of their lunch back or in a compartment of their lunch box, and they’ll love eating their lunch each day.

If you want to pack some veggies for your kid’s lunch, consider cutting them into different shapes.  You can also make veggie kebabs or even add some food coloring to noodles to make “alien goo.”

As you can see, there are many ways that you can make sure that your kids want to eat their lunch without resorting to nagging or threats!
