How to Make Thanksgiving Cheddar and Bacon Mashed Potatoes

Finding the right side dishes for your Thanksgiving dinner just got simpler.  You can make cheddar and bacon mashed potatoes for your Thanksgiving crowd and enjoy a delightful dish with lots of flavor.  So how do you make them?

First, you will need four pounds of Yukon gold potatoes from your local grocer; eight slices of bacon; a quarter cup of butter; a tub of sour cream; a pinch of salt; two cups of shredded cheddar cheese and two-thirds of a cup of sliced green onions.

For this Thanksgiving dish, you will first need to peel your potatoes and cut them into chunks.  Put these in salted boiling water for about twenty minutes, or until they break easily.  Now, drain the potatoes and leave them in the pot.

The next part of preparing this easy Thanksgiving recipe is to cook your bacon in a skillet until it is nice and crispy.  Chop it up and set it to the side.

When making this side dish for Thanksgiving, you will need to next mash your potatoes with a potato masher.  Add your butter, salt and sour cream now, as well.  Add half of your cheese and stir it in, as well as a half-cup of onions and half of your bacon.  Put all of this in a baking dish and then sprinkle with the rest of the onions, bacon and cheese.  Bake at about four hundred degrees for fifteen minutes.  Serve it hot!

You’ve now finished making one of the best tasting Thanksgiving side dishes you’ll ever prepare. Enjoy!
