Recipe for Walnut Oatmeal Raisin Cookies:

For this easy recipe, mix together ½ pound butter that has been softened by leaving it out of the fridge overnight, 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar, ½ cup granulated sugar, 2 eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1 ½ cups all purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ½ teaspoon salt, 3 cups oats uncooked, 1 cup raisins, 1 cup walnuts, chopped.

To bake this easy recipe, heat your oven to 350 degrees.  Beat together the butter and sugar until it is creamy.  Add eggs and vanilla and beat well.  Add combined flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt, and mix well.  Stir in oats, raisins and walnuts and mix well.  Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet.

Bake cookies ten to twelve minutes until they are golden brown.  Cool them for one minute on the baking sheet.  Remove to wire rack, and cool.  This easy recipe makes a convenient kids snack of approximately 4 dozen cookies.

If you prefer an easy recipe for bar cookies for a kids snack you can get together even more quickly, simply spread your mix across an ungreased 13×9 inch metal baking pan, and cook for 30 to 35 minutes.  Cut bar cookies and spread on waxed paper or wire rack to cool. Your kids will love these delicious treats, and they’re cheaper than buying those trendy ‘breakfast bars!’
