Making Grilled Corn is a Simple and Easy Side Dish Option

Are you looking for a simple, easy recipe that will offer you great flavor, but help you save some space in the oven this Thanksgiving?  If so, then grilled corn might just be the best option open to you.  Grilled corn on the cob is delicious, cuts down on the number of items that have to be made in the oven, and can be done very quickly.  Here’s how to add this treat to your Thanksgiving menu.

First, you need to remove excess husk and trim down the silk on your ears of corn.  Excess silk and husk will burn to ash on the grill, but some is necessary for the recipe.  Also, before starting this Thanksgiving dish, make sure that you submerge your corn in water for about fifteen minutes.  This will ensure that your Thanksgiving grilled corn is nice and juicy.

While your corn is soaking, prepare your grill.  To make Thanksgiving grilled corn, you need to have your grill nice and warm, but you don’t want high flames.  Ideally, you want your heat medium-high with a gas grill.  Now, remove your Thanksgiving grilled corn from the water and pour out any excess.  Place the ears on the grill and cover them.  With a charcoal grill, turn them every ten minutes.  On a gas grill, you will need to turn them every five minutes.

While cooking, your corn will char, and begin to blacken.  This is fine.  Once all the green is gone from the husks, your corn is done and can be removed from the grill.  Remove the husk, butter and serve with salt and pepper for Thanksgiving.
