A Review of Celebrities and Their Notorious Arrests in 2010

Predictably, a large number of celebrities were arrested in 2010.  This has been a year of civil unrest, box office flops, and lots of unwanted media attention for those who would rather their private lives – and private affairs – stayed that way. 

Whether you love or hate our celebrity culture and their typically flagrant abuse of the laws that we all take for granted, here’s a look at some of the most public arrests of celebrities in 2010…

Lindsay Lohan:

Lohan’s July 6 probation revocation hearing saw a distraught Lindsay gagging and blubbering in shock—all the while wearing a rebellious message on her fingernails.  Her private disaster lead to a very public outcry against her nerve.

Heather Locklear:

Locklear was once the envy of all celebrities as the feisty character Amanda on Melrose Place.  But local authorities were not entertained when the real life Ms. Locklear was arrested on suspicion of a hit and run altercation.  Definitely not one for her resume.

Danny Glover:

Danny Glover, unlike most celebrities, deserves a humanitarian Oscar for his arrest – or just a pat on the back.  It turns out the Lethal Weapon star was arrested in Maryland during April for joining a protest by SEIU workers against Codex and refusing to back away when ordered by police.  One of the worthiest celebrity arrests of the year.

Gary Coleman:

The troubled little man was arrested on a domestic violence assault in Santaquin, just months before his death at the still-young age of 42. 

Andy Dick:

Andy Dick meanwhile topped everybody on this list by scoring not one but three embarrassing altercations with the cops in one year (so far).  He was arrested in January for groping a bartender and a patron, interrogated on related charges but released in April, and kicked out of a celebrity club in May. Not a good year.

Lawrence Taylor:

This NFL Hall of Famer and celebrities favorite athlete was arrested for third-degree rape of an underage girl in May, though he disputes the charges.  The trial continues.

Rip Torn:

The former star of The Larry Sander Show was arrested in January 29, 2010 after breaking into a closed Litchfield Bancorp branch office in Connecticut while intoxicated.  He was also carrying a firearm, which only added to the charges.  If only celebrities would learn…you get drunk at awards shows, not in public.  And carrying a gun under any circumstances is never a good idea unless a) you’re a cop or b) the zombies have eaten everyone else in your town.

Megan Hauserman:

Hauserman was arrested for DUI in Miami Beach back in April of 2010.  This queen among reality show celebrities was relieved to know she could still get arrested in this town…. bizarrely.
