Budget Travel: How to Tour London for Just $15 per Day

Are you planning to travel to London on vacation?  If so, you will certainly find an amazing number of things to do and see in this wonderful and historic city.  However, some of those things can get expensive.  But with the right tips, you can see all there is to see in London for just $15 a day.  Here’s how.

One way to enjoy your visit to London without spending a fortune is to visit the free museums in the city.  There are many that are definitely worth a visit, and charge no admission (most have cash donation boxes in their foyers, so you can decide whether to donate or not after your visit).

London museums you might want to check out include the British Museum, the Museum of London, the Tate Modern, the Natural History Museum, and the Science Museum.

Touring either Westminster Abbey or St. Paul’s Cathedral will cost you money for tickets.  However, if you actually go to these London churches to attend services, you get to go in free of charge.

You can also save money by eating on the cheap.  London’s restaurants and pubs are very overpriced, as is the case with any capitol city, but there are also some very affordable meal options in the city.  You will find sandwiches sold in triangular cartons for under $5 – and available almost everywhere from train stations to corner grocery shops.

Another great way to save money on your meals in London is to eat a pub lunch.  This lets you combine a visit to an authentic London pub, and enjoy affordable food at the same time.  Most meals will be under $10 (without beer or wine).

Finally, you can save money by taking a walking tour of the city of London.  London Walks is a great option, and the price is very low.  Or you can just buy a map and walk – you can walk the whole way across the center of London in a day, and the public transport via subway and bus, although crowded, is generally reliable.
