Family Activities for Rainy Days

Is your family stuck inside on a rainy day and looking for something to do together?  Rain can certainly put a damper on outdoor plans, but it shouldn’t stop you from having fun.  Today, we will look at 5 great ways to keep your family entertained on rainy days.

Have a Treasure Hunt
A great idea can be to draw up clues and hide them strategically throughout your home.  Offer your kids the first clue, and lead them on a treasure hunt to find a new toy, a great game, or a delicious treat.

Make Photo Albums
Looking at old photos together can be a great way to bond as a family and reminisce over old times.  Making a photo album offers the kids a chance to show their creative sides while looking at memories that will create smiles.

Play a Game
Board games are always great fun, and they are perfect for rainy days.  Whether it is Monopoly, Yahtzee, or Chutes and Ladders, your kids might just love to spend time playing a board game with you.  Light a fire and brew some hot tea or coco for the perfect rainy afternoon.

Make Treats
Rainy days are a great time to gather the family together in the kitchen and make a great treat.  Bake some cookies or brownies, or create a giant sundae for the entire family to share. 

Watch a Movie
Watching a movie might sound like a ‘cheating’ way to spend time together, but when you bring out old home videos or put in something engaging for the whole family, it can be fun.  Consider putting the sound on mute and making up your own dialog and sound effects for a family favorite for a great laugh.
