Put a Newsletter in Your Christmas Cards This Year

When you are getting ready to send out your Christmas cards, it can be a great idea to take the time to create a newsletter that lets distant family members catch up on your life.  As we get older, our families seem to spread out all over the country or even the world, and we simply don’t get to catch up as often as we would like.

When you include a newsletter with your Christmas cards, you can help family members feel as though they are still connected to you and make the distance seem much smaller. To create the perfect newsletter for your Christmas cards, try these simple tips.

Use holiday stationary or Christmas themed computer clip art to give a holiday feeling to your newsletter.  Typing and printing can improve clarity and make it easier for family members to read.

When you write your newsletter, try to stay upbeat and to let everyone know is going on without bragging or complaining.  Make sure you fill everyone in on work, the kids’ school achievements, and life in general.  Any milestone that made your year memorable would be great to share with the family in your Christmas cards.  If you have a little bit of computer knowledge you can even add photos to go with your newsletter (or ask the kids to help you add some) using Microsoft Word or Adobe Photoshop

Remember to wish everyone a happy holiday and to tell everyone how much you love and miss them.

While a single newsletter can be a great choice, you may also wish to tailor it to each family member.  This can make it more personal while still keeping everyone in the loop.  Take the time to think out your newsletter and to choose Christmas cards that offer meaning to you, such as photo cards, and you will find that your family can’t wait to get your Christmas cards again next year!
