The New Zodiac Sign What Does it Mean For You?

Making personal predictions based on astrological signs is just one of the ways people try to predict the future.  For generations, people have been reading their horoscope and identifying with their zodiac signs to determine what their week, and even what the rest of their life will bring.

Then, on January 2011, the zodiac was turned upside down.  Even with so much going in the world, the top story of that week was "Did my zodiac sign change?"

According to CNN, most people follow Western astrology, which is based on the seasons.  Others follow Eastern astrology, which is based on constellations.  This Eastern astrology has another sign, called "Ophiuchus."  This zodiac sign, which is extremely new to those who follow the season-based astrological signs, has raised some speculation over the ensuing weeks, since no one had apparently ever heard of it and many people feel that their zodiac signs are part of them.

According to astronomer Parke Kunkle, this change from one type of astrology to the next has been taking place over time for a very long time period.  Even though the dates of zodiac signs have changed, horoscope readings will essentially not be changing.

There is still much debate raging on as we speak about what your astrological sign will be, but as for now, it’s up to you.  You can stick with the old zodiac dates, or you can just try something new.  It’s safe to say astrology will be with us for as long as the human race seeks to understand the world and their place in it.
