Top 3 Must Do Activities on a Family Vacation to the Grand Canyon

Are you looking for something a bit different to do on your next family vacation?  If so, then you should avoid heading to the beach and, instead, take a trip to the Grand Canyon.  This one mile deep canyon is a simply stunning site, and you’ll find far more to do here than just sightseeing.

Visit the Rim

Of course, one of the first things that you will want to do on a trip to the Grand Canyon is to visit the rim of the canyon.  Here, you’ll find trails and the visitor’s center, as well as the stunning view for which the Grand Canyon is known.  Of course, there is much more to do than stand on the edge and look during your family vacation.

Hike It!

Another excellent option is to actually hike into the canyon itself.  This can be done in a few hours, and you can even have a picnic lunch by the Colorado River.  You might also decide to ride a mule down the canyon trails for a bit of adventure.

River Rafting

The mighty Colorado River carved the Grand Canyon over eons – it is still at work today.  You can ride this powerful force of nature in a raft or a kayak on your family vacation.  This can be an incredible way to spend an entire day.  There are even rafting/camping trips that you can take over several days!
