Top 5 East Coast Resorts Fun for the Whole Family

If you are looking for family resorts that offer something a bit different, you are probably open to travel that doesn’t include sand and surf.  There are dozens of family resorts on the East Coast, and while some may be perched on a pristine beach, not all call for castles in the sand.

Vermont is a great destination for families with kids of all ages.  Smuggler’s Notch is a resort village that offers condominium-style accommodations.  Kids are kept busy with programs that include hiking trails, a petting zoo, and several amazing swimming pools.

The Four Seasons in New York might not sound like it fits the description of family resorts, but you would be surprised at how accommodating they can be for kids.  The staff is always thoughtful, and you can arrange for babysitting for the kids when the adults are ready to play.  The many activities in New York make this one of the best family resorts around.

For Disney-area family resorts, you don’t always have to stay on the main compound.  Kids will enjoy the Wyndham Palace Resort and Spa in Orlando, too.  There are plenty of activities for kids, including a playground and a game room.  Adults can enjoy pampering during downtime, which is the true key to family resorts.

The Renaissance Orlando Resort at Sea World is another of the Disney-area family resorts that can offer a less hectic alternative.  Kids will enjoy the pool and programs when they can’t see Mickey.

For family resorts in Maine, you can’t beat the Meadowmere Resort.  Kids will enjoy the beaches and swimming pools, while adults will find the spa treatments just right for a relaxing vacation.  Family resorts in Maine are not hard to find, but family resorts with this level of service are hard to top.
