Top New Jersey Hotels Why the Chalfonte Hotel is a Historic Place to Stay

When you picture New Jersey, historic hotels might not come immediately to mind.  However, The Chalfonte Hotel, located in Cape May, New Jersey, is a stunning historic hotel that can offer you both a connection to the past, as well as an amazing stay.

The Chalfonte Hotel dates back to 1876, and is the oldest continuously operating hotel in the area.  The hotel takes up almost an entire city block, and combines the beauty and lines of an old sailing ship with a considerable footprint.

Guests of The Chalfonte Hotel will find more than 70 suites and guestrooms on the property, all outfitted with authentic Victorian furnishings and décor.  In addition, The Chalfonte offers dining in The Magnolia Room, where Southern fare is served throughout the day.  Guests will find wireless Internet throughout the property, but there are some things that guests will not find at The Chalfonte Hotel.

In order to maintain its historic, traditional feel, The Chalfonte Hotel does not provide televisions, radios or telephones in any guest rooms on property.  Only some rooms have central heating and air conditioning – louvered doors serve to allow the sea breeze to cool many rooms on property.  Lastly, the hotel also has a connection with the nearby, award-winning golf club – the Cape May National Golf Club.

There is much to enjoy during a stay at The Chalfonte Hotel in New Jersey.  From history to dining, from culture to relaxation, guests will find it all right here.
