What Bands and Artists Do Not Offer Music on iTunes?

With the recent announcement that The Beatles have finally made it to Apple iTunes (their complete catalog, nonetheless), the number of holdouts is significantly smaller.  There are still a number of bands who do not allow their music to be available on iTunes.  Today, we will look at four other artists or bands who are refusing to sell out to Apple.

For two bands/artists, the refusal is based on the belief that digital music and iTunes are going to be the demise of the music industry as we know it.  Both Garth Brooks and AC/DC refuse to allow their music to be offered in digital format.  There is some argument that this may actually lead to more piracy for these artists, but they certainly stand firm in their beliefs.

Kid Rock and Bob Seger are also holdouts when it comes to iTunes, though their music is offered in digital format through other music services.  Both acts can be found on Amazon Music, but only in whole album format.  Many artists disagree with the notion of being able to pick only one or a few songs off of an album like you can with iTunes, while many fans believe that this will encourage artists to make higher quality albums without offering filler content.

As for whether or not the addition of The Beatles to the iTunes lineup will change things for these artists, only time will tell. The digital age is well upon us, and those artists who refuse to let their music to be a part of it may soon find themselves forgotten by an entire generation of music lovers.
