Who Are the Most Popular Celebrity Make Up Artists?

Makeup artists don’t get all the glitz and glamor as movie stars, but they do get a huge paycheck.  They also get the adoration of ‘A-List’ celebrities and the satisfaction that comes from knowing their hard work makes people look beautiful – if only on the outside.

Indeed, most of the beautiful movie actors you know and love don’t really look like movie stars off-camera.  Thanks to fantastic makeup artists though, we can pretend celebrities are born with airbrushed skin and thick lashes.

One of the greatest makeup artists to hit Hollywood in the last 50 years was Paul Starr, who passed away in 2008.  His clients included Oscar and Emmy-nominated actors, like Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Garner.  Another popular name thrown around town as “the best” includes Mally Roncal.  Her makeup clients include some of the most beautiful and exotic faces in Hollywood, such as Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Ashlee Simpson and Teri Hatcher.

Gucci Westman is the creator of superstars, as she has given her makeup tips and techniques to famous faces like Cameron Diaz (who she is also friends with), Jennifer Aniston, and Drew Barrymore.  Nick Barose is another makeup artist extraordinaire and has worked with some of Hollywood’s most attractive young and mature faces, including Scarlett Johansson, Hillary Duff and Kim Cattrall.

Sam Fine is in the same category, as Vogue called him the “makeup master for women of color.”  His clients include Tyra, Iman, Vanessa Williams, Jennifer Hudson, and Veronica Webb.

It’s hard to imagine living the life of a makeup artist, especially a high profile one that touches up the stars.  These makeup artists are not just working and chatting with Hollywood celebrity babes—they are creating a work of art, a visual effect that makes us all admire the beauty that comes from Tinseltown.
