Baby Tips and Tricks How to Clean Cloth Diapers

Using cloth diapers is a popular choice because they are much better for the environment, and are also a much healthier choice for babies. Even so, cleaning dirty diapers is certainly not a pleasant chore. Understanding a few basics can make the process of cleaning dirty diapers much easier.

The most important product you can have for cleaning dirty diapers is a diaper pail. This will allow you to store the dirty diapers until you are ready to wash them. A plastic trash can or even a large bucket will work fine, although it is usually better to have a lid. Remember that you do not necessarily need to dunk your diapers before placing them in the pail. They will clean just fine when they are removed from the pail.

A cloth pail liner for the bucket or pail you use for your dirty diapers can also be helpful. This type of liner can go directly into the washing machine along with the dirty diapers. Such liners are waterproof and are made from the same type of material as diaper covers; so they are usually very good at preventing leaks and smells as well. If you do choose to use a cloth pail liner, it’s usually a good idea to make sure you have a few on hand. This way you can place a clean one in the pail while the other is washing with the dirty diapers.

Using a pail for storing dirty diapers is a great solution that will help to keep odors at bay, and make cleaning diapers much easier.
