How to Make a Coupon Book for Father’s Day

If you want to help your child make a great and very cheap gift for Father’s Day, dad’s birthday or other occasion, a coupon book is a great idea.  A coupon book offers some great benefits.  You and the kids don’t have to worry about spending more money on a gift that dad isn’t going to be able to use.  They are fun and easy to make, and even the littlest ones will be able to help.

The first thing that you have to do when you are coming up with a coupon book for Dad is to determine what the coupons are going to be.  You can have some fun brainstorming with your children.  Think about what things he likes and would most appreciate – this can make for a fun discussion!

Some good ideas to add to your coupon book include a few “Get Out of Chores Free” coupons, some “2 Hours of Quiet Time” coupons, and a few “Breakfast in Bed” coupons.  Of course, you will also want to come up with some ideas that are unique to the person who will be receiving the coupon book.

Making the coupon book is a simple and easy task.  You need some colored construction paper from a craft store, some crayons or a pen, a hole punch, and some colored yarn.

Cut the construction paper in to small squares and then use the hole punch to make holes in the top left corner and the bottom left corner.  Hand write each coupon and include colorful designs and decorations.  Make a cover that says “Coupon Book”, and maybe have the kids to some nice drawings for it.  Then use the yarn to thread through the holes and bind the coupon book.

Giving dads a great gift is fun, inexpensive, and will last throughout the year!
