How to Make Wearable Thanksgiving Decorations

Thanksgiving is a decorating holiday often overlooked by consumers as they are ready to get the Christmas season started.  There are plenty of ways to spice up your Thanksgiving by finding fun Thanksgiving decorations this year, but you should try making wearable Thanksgiving decorations for something different.

One great option for making Thanksgiving decorations is to make wreath necklaces.  You can easily create your own wreaths with faux (or real) leaves and berries.  These fun, colorful, festive necklaces can be bought from any craft store, and can can really add some color to your holiday.  Use plastic plants, or find leaves that are freshly picked and healthy, instead of dead, dry ones that will break all over your clothes.

If you prefer, you can make smaller versions of these Thanksgiving decorations and wear them as bracelets.  Add some Thanksgiving themed charms that include pilgrim hats, leaves, turkeys and anything related to fall.

Another popular option is to make miniature pine cone earrings as Thanksgiving decorations.  All this requires is a little bit of glue, some earring hooks and small pine cones, which can be gathered in your own backyard (or bought at an art store).  Add some glitter or paint to really make these shine!

You can turn clothing into Thanksgiving decorations, as well.  Holiday iron-on prints, glue and glitter are numerous ways that you can transform a plain t-shirt into a festive decoration that really shows the spirit of the season.

These are only a few of the ways that you can make your own wearable Thanksgiving decorations this year.  Doing this can offer a fun craft activity for you and your kids, and can add a great deal of enjoyment to this year’s holiday season.  Look through magazines and craft books for more ideas, and don’t be afraid to think of your own!
