How to Save Space in Your Closet

Do you get frustrated every time you look in your closet? Is it downright aggravating every time you have to hang up clothes and you find yourself pushing a pile of things to the side as you try to work around everything? The closet is certainly one area that is very hard to keep organized. Here are a few tips to how you can save space in your own closet.

First-up, take time every year to go through all of the clothes in your closet. If you do not wear items, then give them away. They are just taking up room. A good rule of thumb is to get rid of any clothes in your closet that you have not worn in a year, with the exception of special occasion items.

Store seasonal clothes during the off-season. Often, too much closet space is taken up with bulky sweaters during the summer and short sleeved shirts during the winter. You can easily purchase large, airtight containers to store off-season clothes in an attic or garage.

Make sure you are not wasting space. Many closets have wasted space near the bottom since they only have one rod for clothing. You can easily purchase a second rod to go underneath the first one and then you can have a double layer of hanging space in your closet.

Your closet does not have to be filled to the brim and overflowing. You can easily save space in your closet with these easy closet organization tips.
