Make Great Valentine’s Day Cards for Kids to Hand Out

Are you looking for a great way to save money this Valentine’s Day while ensuring that your kids have fun giving valentines to all of their friends?  If so, making your child’s Valentine’s cards at home can be a fantastic idea.  With a few basic materials, a creative child, and a sense of imagination, making homemade cards is really a lot of fun.

To get started, you will need some child scissors, construction paper, some markers or crayons, and some lollipops or other treats from the candy store.  Cut out shapes in construction paper, such as flowers, if you like, or simply make traditional card shapes.  Help your child come up with fun and witty sayings and allow them to draw a design on the outside of the cards.

On the inside, be sure that your child signs their name and addresses the cards and attach a piece of candy or a treat if you like.  Remember that the Valentine’s cards should be fun for your child and the recipient and encourage creativity.

A very important rule of thumb when making Valentine’s Day cards is to always make more cards than you need.  You never know when a child might be left off the list or when your child will want to give cards to the bus driver, the janitor, or other people around school.  You never want anyone to go empty handed on this special day.

With a bit of creativity, making homemade Valentine’s Day cards is a great deal of fun for everyone.
