Remove Oil Stains From Concrete With These Easy Tips

Whether you find them on the driveway, in the garage, or on your sidewalk leading to your house, you will want to find a way to remove oil stains. They are ugly, and they can diminish the value of your property. Fortunately, some simple methods to remove oil stains are available, and you will be able to do them on your own.

If you notice a fresh oil spill, one of the best ways to absorb all of the oil in one go is with common cat litter! You might get some strange looks, but it’s very absorbent, and it will clean up much of the oil with very little work. Just pour the cat litter onto the oil spill and let it sit for a few minutes, then scrape it up using a dustpan or shovel. Once you’ve scraped it all up again, if you still see a mark, you can try one of these other methods to remove oil stains.

WD40 is a decent option. Spray the WD40 onto the stain and wipe it up with a rag. Continue spraying and wiping until you remove the whole oil stain from the ground.

You can use baking soda as well. Cover the area in the baking soda, and then wait a few minutes. Use a scrub brush and hot water on the baking soda to remove the oil stains, then pour some water over the area to remove any white residue.

You can also find some commercial products that remove oil stains and do a good job. However, many of these products contain harmful chemicals and acids. They are not good for the environment, and they can damage some surfaces. If you are trying to remove oil stains, choosing one of the natural options described above is a green way to start.
