The Future of Harry Potter is the Boy Wizard Heading for Obscurity?

The late 90’s and early 2000’s brought us the hottest series of books published in recent history. Harry Potter, the boy wizard from England, became a household name all over the world. People clamored for the books, lining up at midnight releases and dressing as their favorite Harry Potter characters. When the movies based on the books were released, Harry Potter fans were able to escape into a whole new world of moving staircases, potions, and magic spells.

As with most fads, even books as well written and engrossing as Harry Potter, the luster eventually fades. The Harry Potter craze was soon eclipsed by Twilight, and readers of fantasy books had a new form of escapism. Though Harry Potter still finds new fans daily, readers that were involved in the books and the fandom eventually needed something new.

Harry Potter’s popularity may not maintain the same heights as before, but the books have shown literary merit that will mark them as classics for years to come. JK Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series, is working on new books to captivate readers with her great imagination and creative style. With her quality of writing, we can be certain her new books will have the same artistry that the Harry Potter series contained.

The beauty of books like Harry Potter is that they never completely go out of style. The Harry Potter series may not be as hot as it once was, but the boy wizard will always find a place in readers’ hearts through new generations.
