Does Acupuncture Really Work?

Acupuncture has been practiced in the East for thousands of years.  This alternative healing method has been proven to offer proven health benefits, and can relieve a variety of different problems, without the need to resort to surgery or harmful chemical medications.

Acupuncture has gained tremendous popularity in recent years, as more medical professionals attest that it can work for many common conditions.  Acupuncture has been shown to be very helpful for controlling nausea in chemotherapy patients, as well as helping to speed healing in post-operative patients.

Acupuncture has also been proven to be very effective when used for treating carpal tunnel syndrome, headaches, asthma and fibromyalgia, as well as tennis elbow, back pain and even osteoarthritis.

The question of whether or not acupuncture works is somewhat moot – it does work, in that it demonstrably reduces some symptoms.  However, it works differently for different people.  The only way to determine if acupuncture will work for your condition is to have an open mind and experience it.  This means that you need to find a qualified acupuncturist to help you with your therapy.

You might also consider speaking with your doctor.  As acupuncture has gained acceptance in Western medicine, more doctors are willing to recommend a good acupuncturist and even discuss what you might be able to see in the way of results from this type of therapy.

In summary, acupuncture can be a very good option, and can help you alleviate your chronic pain or other common medical conditions.
