How to Reduce High Blood Pressure

High blood pressure is usually caused by a narrowing of the arterial walls from an accumulation of plaque or cholesterol.  While people with very serious conditions need immediate pharmaceutical treatments, many can use a supplement regimen and improved nutrition to treat their high blood pressure.

Generally, physicians and experts in the field of nutrition have come to recognize that many people with the condition also tend have low levels of some of the most common supplement ingredients.  For instance, low calcium is a classic indicator of high cholesterol and high blood pressure.  Additionally, Vitamin C is often at low levels in those with these same health issues.

These low levels are easily amended with a supplement regimen, and should also include Co-Enzyme 10, garlic supplements, and even flaxseed oil, if available.  All of these substances have been shown to be beneficial in the fight against high blood pressure, and are readily available in supplement form.

Naturally, it is possible to obtain increased levels of certain vitamins and minerals through diet and nutrition, but if high blood pressure is a very serious concern, it is probably a wiser idea to begin a supplement program right away.

Be sure to speak with your doctor before taking any of the recommended supplements, because they will need to know if these will affect any medications you are already taking.
