Painless Weight Loss Tips For Men

Steaks, burgers, bacon, and any fried fast food is pretty much the mark of any man.  Like you, I would rather cut off my arm than sacrifice delicious fatty foods.  However, these foods come at a price: moobs!  If you don’t know what moobs are yet, you are lucky.  If you want to shed some pounds without turning your life upside down, here are some painless weight loss tips.

Tip #1: Weight Loss Through Patience

What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than by swallowing a half rack of ribs and a dozen hot wings?  Wash it down with Sam Adams and order another.  Well, what if you could feel just as satisfied eating half as much as you do now, and tack in some weight loss while you’re at it?

Well, you can. All you need to do is have a bit of patience and eat slower.  Try this during your next meal.  The reason behind the ‘full’ feeling you get after eating is due to your vagus nerve that communicates with your hippocampus.  When your stomach fills up, it takes your body a while to process that and tell your brain.

This means the faster you eat, the more you eat without feeling full.  To slow down your eating, you can chew slower, watch TV, or talk to a buddy while eating.  This way, you will still be satisfied but be eating less.  Your grandmother may not approve of your manners, but your waistline will thank you for it.

Tip #2: Weight Loss Through Water

Drinking water helps your body in so many ways.  First, the more you drink, the better your metabolism will utilize energy.  All nutrients are broken down by our body into molecular levels which are then absorbed by water in our bloodstream.  These nutrients go into our cells to be used up when needed.  The more water we drink, the better our cells can absorb these nutrients and use them for energy instead of fat.

Basically more water = weight loss.  This only occurs to a certain extent, but there is another great benefit of drinking lots of water.

Water weight is excess water stored by our body.  Some of us have 5 to 10 pounds of water weight.  To lose this, you must drink more water.  People find this hard to understand, but it’s basic biology.  Do you remember Osmosis?  It means where there is more salt, water will travel.  So, if you eat lots of salty foods and less water, your body hangs onto that water.  If you drink a lot of water, it basically flushes the salts out of your system and with it, the excess water weight.  So, drink water to see some great weight loss!

Tip #3: Weight Loss Through Not Drinking

Another simple weight loss trick is to stop drinking your calories at the neighborhood bar or juice stand.  This one can be hard, but certain things are easier to cut out than others.  Think that morning glass of orange juice is good for you?  If you have the choice, eating an orange is much better because the extra fiber in fruits will help fill you up and give you just about the same amount of calories.  You would have to run 1 mile to burn off the calories in a single cup of orange juice.  Let’s not mention sodas and beer…. I can see that you’re an intelligent reader.

So, cut back a bit on your sweetened or alcoholic beverages and you’ll see some great weight loss.

Tip #4: Weight Loss Through Eating More…. Often

Ok, this is probably one of my favorite weight loss tips, and yes, it works.  Like weight loss tip #2, eating more frequently helps speed up your metabolism, which causes you to lose weight in the long run.  Don’t confuse this weight loss tip with eating more calories.  You should eat the same amount you normally would, but just by splitting your meals in two and eating half now, half later, you will experience weight loss.

How does this weight loss tip work?  Well, if you eat every 2-3 hours, your digestive system will constantly be working.  Your digestive system, like everything else in your body, uses a lot of energy just to function.  So, you will actually burn more calories when you eat more often.  Also, your body will be less likely to store fat because it has nutrients readily accessible in the bloodstream.  When your body gets used to not having to rely on its fat stores, you will begin to have some decent weight loss.

Tip #5: Weight Loss Through Weight Gain

This weight loss tip isn’t necessarily painless, but it is effective.  Lifting weights at the gym, even once a week, helps build muscles. When you have muscles, they work all day burning calories.  So one hour a week is all it takes to experience a tremendous amount of weight loss.  Try doing 3 sets of 8-12 reps until muscle failure for the most muscle gain.

Weight loss doesn’t have to be such a chore. Combine these 5 weight loss tips with a little common sense, and you’ll shed pounds in no time!
