Tips on Keeping Your Feet Happy in Heels

Your feet can feel comfortable in a great pair of heels when you wear them the right way.

Break Your Shoes In

You will be able to stand and walk in your heels much easier if you take the time to break them in.  As soon as you purchase your shoes, you should wear them around the house.  Performing this action allows you to avoid getting blisters and unnecessary irritation on your feet.  It also lets you know if you need a smaller or larger size.  By wearing them indoors, you will not have a worn down sole, which means that you can then return them to the store without any problems.

Wear Special Padding

If you have a closed-toe heel, you can insert special pads to make them more comfortable.  Certain retailers carry gel pads that will mold to the shape of your feet for a customized feel.  Many products also allow you to cut them down to size for a perfect fit.  You can purchase feet pads for open-toed heels, but they may be slightly noticeable on the sides.

Limit Your Use

You can limit your use of heels by wearing flat shoes or flip-flops right before you have to put the shoes on.  For example, if you are attending a special event in the evening, you can wait until you have to step out of the car to put your heels on.  Doing so will give your feet a long break before you have to wear heels for several hours.

Providing your feet with maximum comfort will allow you to look and feel great.
