How to Make BBQ Ribs

Barbecue ribs are a summer treat that can be enjoyed all year round, yet many people shy away from making them at home, preferring to spend a fortune ordering them at their local barbeque restaurant.  However, they’re much cheaper to make at home – a rack of ribs feeds six people and can set you back as little as $8.

There are two types of ribs you can buy – regular ribs and baby back ribs.  Baby back ribs usually taste better, but may have more fat on them.  Full ribs almost always have more meat on them, so bear that in mind when you’re at the butchers making your purchase.

To make these oven-baked BBQ ribs, you will need:

Rack of ribs (baby-back or regular)

BBQ sauce

Large baking tin

Aluminum foil

Steps:

First, pre-heat the oven to 300 degrees.  While the oven is warming up, open the pack of ribs and wash well under the cold tap.  Pat them dry with paper towels.

Next, line your baking tin with aluminum foil.  Arrange your ribs in the center of the tray.  Cover loosely with foil to keep the juices in and prevent them from burning.

Bake ribs in center of oven for approximately two hours.  Remove from the oven, use a butter brush or spoon to baste ribs in the BBQ sauce.  Recover with foil, and return to the oven and bake for a further half-hour.

Serve with homemade mashed potatoes and corn on the cob for the perfect summer meal.  Nobody will guess how easy this was to prepare once they have a taste!
