How to Create a Thanksgiving Holiday Tablescape

If you have usually only used a centerpiece and a tablecloth as table decorations for Thanksgiving, a holiday tablescape might be just the thing that you need.  Tablescapes are great options, particularly for longer tables, and help to add elegance to your Thanksgiving meal.  There are several ways that you can achieve this goal.

One item that can help you create a Thanksgiving tablescape is the miniature pumpkin.  You can find these in all sorts of colors, from natural to mottled to white.  Pick a color at the grocery store and buy about ten of them.  You will also need to buy a Thanksgiving tablecloth that will go with the colors of the pumpkins – opt for something without a print if possible, though damask prints are acceptable.

Now, to make your Thanksgiving tablescape decorations, you need to buy some pillar candles, candle plates and glass bubble bowls.  Make sure that the pillar candles and plates you buy complement the pumpkins you purchased.  Add some of the pumpkins to each bowl and set them at even intervals down your table.  Between these, you will place a pillar candle and plate.

You can also do this with inexpensive flowers – real or silk flowers from the florist.  The goal is to create an alternating pattern of item, object, item that will run the length of your table and lead the eye down it.

You can make a Thanksgiving tablescape with almost any items you might find desirable.  With a bit of work, your Thanksgiving table can be as elegant as possible this year!
