Broaden Your Children’s Mind With a Family Culture Night

Have you been looking for a way to increase family entertainment options without resulting to movie night time and time again?  Are you hoping for an option that will offer a learning experience for everyone, as well as the chance to share great food and laughter with your family members?  Let’s look at why having a culture night with your family every month can be a splendid idea.

We all want our children to be open minded and to know about the world around them, but textbooks can be stuffy and boring.  Documentaries are often too in-depth to hold the attention span of the entire family.  A culture night, on the other hand, offers your family the chance to really experience a new life.  The premise is simple.  Choose a culture from your own heritage or even one that simply interests you and get the family in for a night of fun and learning.

When you host a culture night, you can make foods that are traditional to the culture you have chosen, such as Greek cuisine, Vietnamese finger-food, or hearty British pies.  You can play games that are popular in that region and even offer bits of trivia and history throughout the meal.  You may even be able to find movies from or about that culture that will keep the entire family entertained.

Culture night can be a great deal of fun for the whole family, and with delicious food and fun activities, nobody will be any the wiser to the fact that you are also offering a learning opportunity.  The next time family night looks like it might result in yet another Pixar cartoon, try a culture night instead.
