Healthy Dinner Options For the Kiddies

Finding dinner options for finicky children does not have to be an exercise in controlling your temper.  You can find great food with plenty of nutrition, and still let your children enjoy some of their favorite meal options.

 

How might you do this?  One of the best ways is to let your kids choose dinner for the family one or two nights each week.  Even if they choose something unhealthy, you can still add a bit more nutrition to the dinner.  

 

BLTs
If your kids love the taste of bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwiches, then you can easily prepare this dinner option in a healthy way.  One option is to replace that regular bacon with turkey bacon.  You can also use low-fat mayonnaise rather than your regular stuff.

 

Burgers
What kids don’t love burgers?  While this dinner is certainly popular both at restaurants and at home, it’s not necessarily the healthiest meal out there.  Consider using ground turkey rather than ground beef to make the patties.  You can also top the burgers with lots of fresh veggies, or even use something like avocado to add more nutrition.

 

Tacos
Do your kids love tacos?  If so, then rather than ground beef, use chicken or even fish in this dinner option.  You will find that both meats offer lots of great taste, and are far healthier than ground beef.

 

There are quite a few ways that you can let your kids choose dinner, and then make it healthier on your own.
