The Highest Paid Actors in Hollywood

We all watch movies, whether we head out to the local movie theater, hire a rental, or stream one over the web.  One of the things that draws people to the movies are the stars in them, and those stars command some rather large, and some might say outrageous, paydays.  Who robbed Hollywood in 2010 with the highest paycheck?

#1 Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp, with films in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and Alice in Wonderland, earned around $75 million last year.  With a new Pirates film coming out soon, you can be sure that he’s already well on his way to topping that figure in 2011.

#2 Ben Stiller

Ben Stiller is another actor that makes a great living from his craft.  Last year, he earned a whopping $53 million.  While it isn’t as high as Depp’s astounding $75 million, it’s definitely nothing to feel embarrassed about! 

#3 Tom Hanks

Actor Tom Hanks earned around $45 million from work on movies.  However, some of his income isn’t from acting.  He’s also has a film production company that produces television shows and movies. 

#4 Adam Sandler

Adam Sandler pulls in about $40 million per year, making him the fourth highest paid actor working in Hollywood.  In 2010, he was seen in the smash hit comedy Grown Ups.

#5 Daniel Radcliffe

Another actor you will want to keep an eye on is Daniel Radcliffe of Harry Potter fame.  He reportedly earns $20 million per movie, making him the highest paid actor in Hollywood for a single film.

Even with award-winning performances and their many films at the box office, many would argue that these salaries are far above necessary, but we all still flock to the theater when they’re on the big screen.
