Top 3 Worst Celebrity Authors

While some celebrities naturally find fame and fortune through writing great autobiographical books based on their lives, or even display a natural talent for fiction, it seems that some celebs should really leave writing to the professionals.  Here are a few book selections written by celebrities that would simply be better if they had never been written at all.  Leave these ones on the bookstore shelf, and save yourself many wasted hours of life!

“L.A. Candy” by Lauren Conrad

For those of you who don’t watch MTV, Conrad is famous for her appearance on reality show ‘The Hills.’  Attempting to cash in on that fame, she wrote a novel about a young girl who suddenly and unexpectedly finds fame (gasp!) in reality television.  Fancy that!  While it made it onto the bestseller list simply due to her celebrity, the book is far from fictional and far from excellent.

“How to Be Famous” by Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt

Speaking of people whose fame should have ended with ‘The Hills,’ this book is simply another ploy by these two to continue to be famous for nothing.  With everything from a staged marriage to multiple staged breakups, this couple will do anything for attention, and increasingly, it seems that much of the American public will do anything to make them just go away…. but still, we continue to buy their books.  The mind simply boggles.

“Hooking Up with Tila Tequila” by Tila Tequila

What can be said about this book that is polite enough to print?  Tila is yet another woman who is famous without really doing anything in order to become famous.  This book is supposed to be a guide to becoming just like Tequila, but for anyone who has ever seen her, that is not the wisest decision.  Skip this book and head to the Classics section at the library – you’ll be glad you did.
