Cheap and Simple Tips to Combat Hair Thinning

Thinning hair is one of the hardest things for people to deal with.  Though some men look much better with a bit of hair loss, many are devastated by it and, for women, it can seriously affect self image.

There are plenty of snake oil/ mumbo-jumbo products out there that promise to regrow hair, and a few clinically-proven ones that actually do.  Side effects or no efficacy at all are the main concerns with these.  A bit of creative cosmetic work can help a lot, however, and doesn’t require a doctor or a prescription.

Volume-building shampoo can help give your locks some body.  While it will not regrow any of the hair you’ve lost, it may help you to get a younger look by fluffing up what you do have.  There are plenty of volumizing shampoos that have this quality and they’re not expensive.

If you dye your hair, consider going for colors that are not dark.  Dark hair tends to contrast with the scalp underneath, making thinning hair look sparser.  Black hair will definitely make your hair look thinner if it’s thinning already.

Remember that you can simply wear your hair differently if it’s thinning.  For guys, go with it. Most men will have some receding on the front of their scalp; baldness on the crown is rarer.  If you have some receding going on, show it off a bit.  Comb it back, which will emphasize the hair you have.  For women, the styling options are endless and can cover a thin scalp quickly and easily with a few tips from your hairdresser.
