Top 10 Craft Gifts Your Kids Can Make Dad on Father’s Day

Father’s Day is the one time a year children can really spoil their dad.  Father’s Day is such an inspirational time of year that President Lyndon Johnson signed a presidential proclamation in 1966 that resulted in the declaration of the third Sunday of June as Father’s Day.  So let’s get busy with discussing creative ways to honor our dads on Father’s Day!

Craft #1: Painting – Sit the kids down for an afternoon craft and let them get busy painting.  Kids can paint Dad an awesome work of art with their fingers, a paint brush, or any other object available.  Allow your kids to bring out their creative side during this craft.

Craft #2: Decorate an Apron – Buy a blank apron from a fabric store and let the kids decorate it with silly logos like “#1 Dad,” “Greatest Dad Award,” and “We Love Dad.”

Craft #3: Desert – Grab Dad and make the family’s favorite desert.  Let the kids show their appreciation by writing a ‘We Love Dad’ message on the desert in edible decorations.  Use hearts, sprinkles, or any other candy to make it an even more special treat.

Craft #4: Card – Allow the kids to print a card off their favorite website for Dad.  Make coupons for Dad and insert them into the card.  For example: “Timmy will do dishes for one week.”

Craft #5: Nature Card – For an appealing Father’s Day gift for the outdoorsy dad, let the children out into the park and help them collect leaves, twigs, feathers and flowers.  Show them how to create a card with their findings with a dab of glue and a lot of love.

Craft #6: Artistic Card – Making Dad a homemade card is always something he will love.  Using all different kinds of craft materials from an arts and crafts store will make the card even more special.  Sit down with the kids and help them with this fun project.  An interesting card fact: Father’s Day makes up the fifth-largest card-sending holiday in the world – so save mom and dad some money and opt for a homemade card instead!

Craft #7: Make a Magnet – Gather some magnets up and make Dad a picture magnet for Father’s Day.  Let the kids pick the picture and make a frame out of pop-cycle sticks.  Dad is sure to love the memory every time he goes to the fridge to get a soda or snack.

Craft #8: Gift Basket – Make a Father’s Day gift basket for Dad.  Let the kids fill it with items they choose to make, or let them fill it with Dad’s favorite snacks and treats.  They can decorate the basket with ribbon and personalize it with glittery pens.

Craft #9: Coupon Book – Making Dad a complete Coupon book will make his Father’s Day full of joy!  Include coupons that will allow your kids to do the dishes, rake the yard or just got to bed for one month without complaining.

Craft #10: Remote Holder – Everyone in the house is always looking for the remote, so do everyone a favor and make Dad a TV remote holder.  The remote will always be there when he is looking for it and it’ll remind him of your love each time he sees the craft.  Simply find a cup holder and decorate the outside with cut-out pictures of his favorite football or sports team.
