How Female Hair Loss Can be Treated Effectively With Natural Remedies

You know that sinking feeling. It may happen when you are in the shower and you see in the drain, lots of your hair washing away. Alternatively, you may glance in the mirror and see those tell-tale signs of hair loss. There is nothing more frustrating than watching your hair get thinner day after day and feeling powerless to stop it, but the good news is that you can stave off hair loss with natural remedies.

The first thing you should look at when fighting off hair loss will have to do with your diet. As you know, eating a healthy diet is good for your body. It is also healthy for your hair. A diet that is high in natural omega-3 fatty acids, like fish and eggs, is known to provide health benefits for hair. By providing nutrients for your current hair, you can avoid more hair loss in the future.

Supplements made from natural ingredients can be quite helpful to combat hair loss as well. Two drugstore supplements include omega-3 and vitamin B-12. Routinely taking these vitamins can be a great way to stop hair loss in its tracks. Other natural supplements that are shown to stop hair loss include saw palmetto, zinc, and biotin.

Other things that you can do to fight hair loss will involve how you care for your hair. It is best to avoid stress on your hair like dyes and perms. Any chemical treatments damage your existing hair and make it easier to break, as does excessive (more than once weekly) use of a hot blow drier or heated curling or straightening irons.

If you must use heated hair straighteners, use the more expensive Ceramic-plated ones, never the metal ones, which will quite literally cook your hair every time you use it, leading to a dramatic thinning of your hair in a month or less.

When you wash your hair, do not dry it vigorously with a towel. Instead, pat dry and then use a wide tooth comb. Never brush or comb your hair when it is wet, as wet hair has less elasticity and is more likely to split and break, making your hair look thinner still. If you have thin hair, avoid the use of heavy conditioners and leave-in treatments like hair serum. This will only weigh your hair down, making it look thinner. Instead, apply a small amount to ends only and rinse thoroughly. Never apply conditioner directly to your scalp in you have thin hair, as this will make it look greasy.

By taking proper care of your hair and by choosing a proper diet and exercise regimen, you can stop hair loss in its tracks.
