Simple Tips to Limit Skin Damage at the Tanning Salon

Many people want to have a nice tan, but they don’t want to spend time under the sun’s harmful rays to get it.  While a little bit of sun is great, too much can cause skin damage.

Many people have turned to tanning salons to get that ‘healthy’ glow, but you still have to be very careful when you choose the indoor tanning solution.  If you choose to go the indoor route, you can do a few things that will help to minimize the damage to your skin while you are at the salon.

First, you need to make sure that the tanning beds the salon uses are high quality and that they provide 95 percent UVB rays rather than UVA rays.  The UVA rays can be very harmful to your body.

Second, it is important that you don’t overdo your sessions at tanning salons.  Most of the salons have rules in place that minimize the amount of tanning you are able to do.  Make sure that your sessions only last for about 10 to 15 minutes.

Third, you need to be sure that you keep your skin healthy with moisturizers.  Use high quality lotions that protect and heal your skin.  This can reduce some of the problems that tanning salons can cause.

Finally, you need to remember that your health is more important than a tan.  When you tan too often, even on a tanning bed, you can increase your risk of developing skin cancer.  When you limit your exposure to both the sun and to tanning beds, you will find that you have far fewer problems, but still have a great glow.
