Why Collecting Out of Print DVDs Can Make You Cash

If you are a movie buff who takes great pride in your movie collection, then you probably already know that there are many movies that made it to DVD one time and are now considered out of print and rare.

Acquiring one of these is pure joy for the collector and gives reason to celebrate with a popcorn and movie night.  If you are collecting rare DVDs, you should add the top 10 movies that are out of print to your ‘desperately seeking’ list, and also find out how to keep up with ever-growing list of out of print movies so that you can attempt to get them.

The list of rare, out of print movies on DVD changes frequently and includes movies such as the silent, graphic “Begotten,” the Peter Fonda and Susan George 70s Dirty Mary Crazy Larry, Disney movies, such as “Dr. Syn: The Scarecrow of Romney,” and even classics like “Dr. Zhivago,” and many James Bond movies.  If you are lucky enough to already own these, you own a piece of cinema history that will only go up in value.  If you don’t own these on DVD, then you should put these on your radar.

Collecting rare, out-of-date DVD movies is a challenging hobby because once they are gone, they are completely unavailable.  However, there are many groups, clubs and online sites where you can search for them and even trade among members.

Out of print movies can actually be an investment, as they continue to increase in value.  This is one hobby that can be both entertaining and financially sound.
