How to Answer Tough Job Interview Questions

Landing that dream interview after weeks of job hunting can be one of the most rewarding feelings in the world.  However, there is nothing worse than missing out on a great job because you failed to answer the interview questions in the manner that your employer hoped.

Here are some of the toughest questions asked in job interviews, and ways you can answer them in order to boost your job prospects.

One of the toughest questions you are likely to be asked is why you left your last job.  If you left because of office politics, for example, this is certainly not an answer that you want to give.  Instead, try to look at it from a different angle.  Explain that you were looking for a position where team play was the goal or where employees could work as a whole to make the office more successful.  This sounds excellent to a prospective employer and just may help you land the job.  Be honest, but make certain that you explain things in a positive manner rather than dwelling on the negatives.

The other question that frequently troubles people interviewing for a job is when they are asked to name their biggest weakness.  Don’t name a strength in hopes that it will make you sound great, such as that you are overly committed to your job, but don’t throw up a red flag either.  Instead, name a weakness that doesn’t affect your job or something that can be easily eliminated.  Offer to provide the solution yourself, for instance if you believe you are a little weak using the latest graphic design software, say so, then mention you are currently taking a graphic design course to remedy this.

Finding the right answers to these questions may well be your key to employment.
