The Health Benefits of Parsley

Parsley is a great herb that can offer a number of important health benefits to the body.  It is made up of a number of elements that you need for proper nutrition, including iron, B vitamins, calcium, magnesium and potassium.  It also has vitamin A, C, K and beta carotene, while containing an essential fatty acid, alpha-linolenic acid.

Many people have used the herb to relive inflammation in the kidneys and the bladder.  It can help to remove gallstones when taken in tea form.  The herb is also used for edema, the liver and the spleen.  Some even use the seeds of the herb to help with stiff joints.  Many also believe that it helps the optic nerves, the nervous system and the brain.  All of these extracts are available at health food stores.

Parsley is also an antioxidant, and it can help with bad breath and treat ear infections.  The fluorine in the parsley can also help create strong teeth and protect the body from viruses.  For pregnant women though, ingesting parsley as an herb, tea and juice should be avoided as over-consumption can lead to birth defects and even abortion.  Talk to your doctor if you are concerned about the effects of parsley on your unborn baby.
