Winter Fashion For Children This Year

When you are shopping for winter clothes for your kids, knowing what items are essential can help you shop quicker and cheaper.  Sure, a trendy wool coat and some cute hoodies will look great on your little one, but function is more important than fashion when it comes to cold winter weather.  Remember that your six-year-old will grow out of that expensive woolen jacket within a year, and by next winter you’ll have to buy her a bigger one. Let’s look at the essential winter clothes that your kids simply must have this year.

One ‘must-have’ winter clothing item is a rain breaker.  Much like a windbreaker, this type of jacket consists of a weatherproof shell that blocks both wind and water from getting your little one wet.  Almost all rain breakers are hooded and padded, helping to ensure that your kids are nice and dry without the need to choose between their school books or an umbrella.

Another must when it comes to winter clothes is a good pair of waterproof boots.  Great winter boots will not only be designed to keep feet dry when walking in snow and slush, but will have fleece, wool, or faux fur linings to keep your kid’s feet warm.

The third ‘must-have’ items of winter clothing are functional accessories.  Every child should have a durable pair of gloves, a scarf, and ear warmers or a winter hat.  These items take a while for them to grow out of as heads and hands don’t grow that fast, so buy a quality set and it’ll last your child at least a couple of years.  It is easy to find sets that offer all three items in a matching color or pattern.  You loose up to 60% of your body heat through your head, so a warm hat is absolutely crucial.

With these winter clothes close at hand, your kids will stay toasty all season long.
