The Best Children’s Party Games for All Ages

If you are are throwing a birthday party for your child, you want to be certain that all of the guests have a good time.  One of the worst things a parent can do is to make a child embarrassed by offering party games that are not age appropriate.  No 13 year old wants to make balloon animals with a clown, so how do you know what games will be a hit at your child’s next birthday party?

If you have a birthday party aimed at toddlers, the best party games are simple.  Sing-alongs are typically fun and offer little risk of injury.  As kids get a few years older, around the age of five and up, games such as tag or a scavenger hunt can make a birthday party a great deal of fun.  Offering prizes can make games even more fantastic.  Pin the tail on the donkey can also be fun, though you will want to use tape rather than tacks.

For kids around the age of nine and up, you can start offering more exciting games.  Piñatas are great fun, though safety should always be a priority.  Water guns and water balloons are also great fun at this age and can keep kids well entertained at any birthday party. Head to your local toy store or stop off at a chain like Toys’R’Us to find inspiration.

When your kids reach the teenage years, finding the right birthday party games gets a little harder.  They may want to engage in sports, or a favorite group video game such as Wii Sports may come into play.  When you consider your child’s interests, finding an age appropriate game for your child’s birthday party doesn’t have to be hard.
