How to Make Grooming Your Dog Easier

Shedding is a common problem that dog owners experience.  For some owners, it takes place only during certain times of the year, but for many dog owners the problem is constant.  How do you deal with this problem, and which grooming tools are most effective at getting rid of excess dog hair before it ends up all over your home?

An excellent grooming product is the dog shedding blade.  While the name might sound intimidating, this product is incredibly gentle and is an essential part of proper grooming.  These blades separate the hair from the body, gently lifting it and removing excess hair.  It can also give your dog a fuller coat while allowing the skin to breathe.

A dog brush, such as the FURminator de-shedding tool can also be a great choice.  The narrow bristles help to remove loose hair before it is shed, while the design makes it easy and comfortable to use.  When used frequently, your dog will start to see it as a mini massage, and brushing and grooming time will even become enjoyable.

Shed control shampoo, such as that made by Vet’s Best and PetCo can help to control shedding, as well.  These grooming products are great for releasing excess hair and can help to keep the coat healthier and smoother at the same time.  They can be found at most pet stores.

Grooming your pet shouldn’t have to be difficult.  With the right grooming tools, you can make shedding a problem of the past.  Combs, brushes, and shampoos can all help put a stop to dog shedding.
