Great Tips to Lose the Clutter in Your Home and Start Organizing

When you’re a busy and hard working person who is thinking about organizing the clutter in your house, it can get overwhelming. Between lack of space and lack of time, organizing your house can become a tedious job. Here are a few simple tips you can use to start organizing and getting rid of the clutter.

Buy or update the file cabinet in your home office and start using it for organizing those papers.

If you are constantly finding documents and old statements around your home office, you may need to invest in a file cabinet or upgrade the one you have for organizing important papers. Medical records, insurance policies and old bank statements can all be included in this organizing technique.

Use color coding for easily organizing your holiday decorations.

When you start organizing your holiday decorations in bins or bags, try to find corresponding colors like green or red for Christmas and orange for Halloween. That way, you can save time by not having to label the bins as well as avoid lugging fifteen identical boxes out of the attic before you find the one you want. Organizing tricks like this are great time savers.

Avoid working in circles.

All of those cute round baskets around your house you’ve been using to organize your things aren’t very effective. Square boxes tend to hold more and are able to save space by becoming stackable storage solutions.

Think outside the “box.”

Be creative! Not everything needs to go in the closet or in a storage bin. Buy shelves or hooks to hang on the wall for those extra knick knacks you can’t find a place for.
