Stain Remover Tips for Dry Clean Only Clothes

Do you have a favorite dress, shirt or jacket that has a stain but is labeled dry clean only?  Do you find that you don’t have time or the money to get to the dry cleaner but you really want your item to be wearable again?  Don’t throw it in the washer and hope for the best.  Here is how you can effectively clean your clothes at home with a stain remover for dry clean only clothes.

Believe it or not, there are plenty of products that you can use right at home on dry clean only products.  A great option is to purchase Dryel, which is a product that allows you to dry clean at home.  You can use this product by putting a Dryel cleaning cloth into the dryer with your garments and tumbling them for about fifteen minutes.  You can also use the Dryel garment bag to hold your clothes and the stain remover cloth and dry in this manner.

Another great idea is to pick up a dry cleaning stain remover, such as Afta.  This can be dabbed onto the stain with a paper towel.  Once the product has soaked the stain, simply blot with a cloth until the entirety of the stain has been removed.

A dry cleaning stain remover can be very effective.  It is always important, however to first test any stain remover on an inconspicuous area of fabric to ensure colorfastness.  If this works well, the product is safe to use.  Never put dry clean only garments in water, and ensure that the stain remover you buy is specially formulated for this type of clothing.
