It’s a very common scenario to own a great appliance that works wonderfully… but then unexpectedly dies a day or two after the warranty expires!  You probably don’t want to spend your entire paycheck on a brand new appliance, so it’s important to consider an appliance repair service.

There are a large number of companies that offer appliance repair on all of the different items you have in your home.  Some of the companies that offer this repair are also manufacturers.  One of the top major companies that offer this service on their products is Maytag.  You probably remember the old commercials that have the appliance repairman who is constantly bored because he never has to fix anything, thanks to the quality of Maytag.

Of course, there are many other large companies as well, some that are within miles of your home.  Sears is a great option for to get a repair made.  They offer plenty of warranties and deals throughout the year and lower prices than competitors. 

There are other companies that do this as well, and even though the large companies might have a better reputation, they might be more cost effective.  Family-owned businesses found in the phonebook might have repairmen who have more experience than the ‘big box’ chains, but many have higher prices and infrequent discounts.

Before choosing a company or repairman for your repair needs, ask for different estimates from various companies.  You might even try talking to their customers and finding new repair opinions.
