Top 10 Dream Products That Moms Everywhere Are Still Waiting For

Let’s just begin this discussion by saying that it is unlikely that the world will ever see a self-changing diaper.  That doesn’t mean that there aren’t some additional products that might seem dream-like, but which may feasibly appear at some point in the future and make mothers worldwide rejoice. 

This light-hearted discussion will look at the top 10 products any modern mother would love to exist in the real world.

A Truly Dream Product

Though that self-changing diaper is the ideal dream product, there are other items that may never come into reality as well, but which would be great!  For instance, what mom wouldn’t want some sort of protective shield that would keep a child from immediate harm or injury.  Yes, we have outlet covers and toilet locks, but what about an invisible forcefield that could prevent your teen from climbing out of their bedroom window, or a shield that keeps the toddler from tumbling off of the couch?

Another dreamy product for a busy mom would be one that instantly induces dreams!  That’s right, a sleeping device.  With a click, a mom or dad could put the kids into a healthy and beneficial slumber, and enjoy the peaceful quiet.  Then again, maybe this product is called the sleeping pill – and it’s not the child that takes this one!

What if the kids won’t stop bickering or the baby can’t stop crying?  A crying translator would be awfully nice.  It would let a mom understand the problem and find a solution immediately!

The Not So Dreamy Products

There are some dream products that aren’t far outside of the realm of reality too.  What about toys that work just like real products?  What mom wouldn’t appreciate toy-sized versions of household helpers, available from every toy store?  Something like the vacuuming could get done as a form of entertainment, and on a daily basis! 

Additionally, there are other household helpers that can really save a mom tons of time each day.  Consider a shoe locator, which you can get online or from any electronics store.  There are “clappers” that activate small beepers, and these can be attached to keys, but also items such as shoes, phones and purses!

Another true to life product is longer-lasting hair dye.  What mom doesn’t sport a crop of gray hair?  Today’s dyes are becoming far more durable and long lasting, but that’s no good if your hair grows half an inch every 4-6 months, like most people’s does.  The days of monthly dye jobs and touch-ups at the hairdresser would be soon coming to an end if science could just figure out a way of preventing one’s hair from growing!

Real Life ‘Mom Dream Products‘

Of course, there are dream products that do exist.  Consider the modern-day scar and stretch mark creams that can actually help prevent all of the wear and tear to the skin on the abdomen and body that occurs during pregnancy. 

Also, what about the amazingly accurate digital thermometers that fit inside of the ear?  These are super easy, safe and more effective than ever.  No more rushing little Johnny to the ER with mercury poisoning when he accidentally bites the end off the thermometer. (This actually happened to my father when he was a boy!).

There will come a time when some of these products are available to the modern mom, but until then, we can dream of these wonderful items and try to find less technical solutions to all our ‘Modern Mom’ dilemmas.
